Carer of the Month May 2020

The winners are Lewis Edwards and Jade Budd from the Pines!

Every month, we’re lucky enough to read hundreds of nominations for the Carer of the Month awards. but sadly we can only pick one winner. It’s very difficult because all nominees deserve to win.

But this time, the story is quite magical.

Last week, senior carer Jade Budd nominated manager Lewis Edwards: “Due to only being in Management for a year and dealing with the current pandemic so well, adapting and changing no what comes his way. He is still staying calm with a level head and coming in with a positive/ upbeat mood. Going above and beyond his role, not only Manager but insuring his team are well cared for that we have all of the supplies we need all while acting as a therapist to many. So Thank you Lewis“

Lewis won the award, and we were very excited to share the news with him. But being an excellent Manager doesn’t stop there for Lewis. He expressed his concern about winning this one on his own and decided to share the award with Jade, the person who nominated him in the first place!

Not only that, but he also nominated Jade in return.

"I nominate Jade for all her hard work during the outbreak of COVID-19 and helping an individual shielding for 12 weeks to enjoy life in different ways and supporting me to make his environment and care safer as well as documenting the entire process.", wrote Lewis.

To top this one, Jade Budd had also been nominated by co-worker Simon Whalley:

"I nominate Jade for her amazing work with the customers and she is always going the extra mile for them. She is an inspiration and is an amazing person also who is always helping other Support Workers out with any issues. She totally deserves it."
